DYK Thread for December

**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

Below are some fun DYK blinkies--feel free to snag any if you like:

My dad never cooked, unless my mom was sick or away

He still doesn't

He didn't change diapers, he didn't clean the house, etc

The most he did was play with us and discipline us a little

Good thing I didn't marry a man like my dad, LOL

I knew what you ment. That is just sad about your SiL.My next door neighbor always seemed to favor her ds when they were growing up,but she is thrilled to have a dd. now.I can't say that I cooked much growing up since my dad did all the cooking.I keep thinking I should let Gabb cook when she asks, but having her in the kitchen makes me nervous,as she drops and spills stuff.I should just stay out of the kitchen and let her be,but I always have the feeling I'll be stuck cleaning it up and while I don't mind cleaning my mess cleaning someone elses drives me batty.

I know about the sun lamps

I need to get some

Michael told me he could probably get them discount from a medical supply company, but we just haven't done it

I don't know if they'd help or not

I can't imagine living where it was perpetually night

It's funny, because I like nighttime, but for some reason I need the sunlight

I guess I'm not a vampire ;)

Is American Chinese food really different from the food in China?

You know, it was kind of funny, but I was actually embarrassed giving them to him

I have no idea why

We've been married 15+ years and there is absolutely NO MODESTY left between us, so it wasn't that. . .

I think just the fact that I took them myself and decided to give them to him for Christmas was a bit embarrassing for me for some reason, but it surprised me that I was embarrassed

I think I felt kind of like a show-off for a minute

I didn't think I could ever get embarrassed about anything with Michael at this point in our marriage, but I did

I got over it once I saw how happy and respectful he was about them

I'm really glad I did that for him

I would love it if he would return the favor and do some for me (And I told him that too, LOL!) ;)

My younger sister gets such bad migraines that her boyfriend has taken her to the ER before

Michael has also gone over to her house to give her an injection of pain meds

She throws up, can't move her head, moans, etc

It's scary to see

I remember reading all those Judy Blume books, LOL

She was pretty graphic in some of them

We had that problem a while back, Time Warner and NBC couldn't come to an agreement.

We didn't have NBC for a few weeks, but they worked it out and we got it back.

I drink way too much iced tea, with sweet and low.I used to drink a lot of diet coke, but it gives me a headache to drink too much diet soda for some reason.I can drink ice tea by the gallon though.I hate hot beverages, even when it is cold.
