DYK Thread for December

**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

Below are some fun DYK blinkies--feel free to snag any if you like:

Are you doing anything fun tonight? We ate Chinese, then Dale took Gabby to her friends house. From there they are going to a neighborhood party, across the street from her friend.Gabby's little boyfriend lives there,She wore his bracelet tonight. There will be her 3 bffs and then 3 boys they all hang out with.It is freezing out here.Dh and I considered going to downtown Pittsburgh, but there are a lot of outside activities,so we will watch vidoes at home.Dale is hunting with a cross bow tom then watching the Penn State game.I told Gab I'd take her to the mall and Barnes and

DO you keep your house warm though?Ours is at 68,so Gabby is always cold.Sometimes Dale will even sneak it down to 65.I am usually ok,bucause I am always hot and I'd rather wrap myself in a blanket than be too hot.My mom keeps her house at 72 and I am always sweating when I am there.

DYK my gosh Rach was just complaining that she got enough of a burn from the stairs workout today at my office. I work on the 6th floor & regularly take the stairs (vs the elevators...the building is old & a coworker got stuck one time for almost an hr so that's another reason to take stairs in addition to the exercise aspect). Anyway I made the girls walk up to the 6th fl, walk down to the basement to go to the cafeteria & back up to the 6th fl (which is actually 7 flights) twice then we went outside to the PO & Nat'l Xmas tree & walked back up the 6 flights.

DYK I told the girls if their old mommy can do it then surely they could esp since they play sports & are younger. They did it but of course not w/out complaining ;-)

DYK I went & checked our thermostat before I replied to you & ours is set at 68...we usually try to remember to turn it down to 65 if we're gone (at work for instance but DH is off all this wk so no change). Besides, I think DH would flip when he saw the gas bill if we had it set at 70 or more. He hates it when I like it set lower in the summer since he grew up w/out A/C.

So you keep your house kind of cool too.Our gas bill was still pretty high last month,so I am not really sure if turnong up the heat just a little would make it that much higher. The good thing about the gas bill though is that it is usually only $10 in the summer,if not lower.Dh turns it down to 62 if we are not home.Like I said he would be happy to keep it at 62 all the time, but that is even cold for me and I hate being hot.

DYK speak of pictures, here's one of the Nat'l Christmas Tree...for some reason we couldn't go inside & see it & the 50 state trees, there were people doing maintenance. Not sure if the high winds blew too many of the ornaments off or there were problems w/the trains running around it. You can see Rach was cold & not concerned about looking good since she had her hood up while Jamie didn't seem to mind the wind.
