DYK Thread for December
**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**
DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know
It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members
Below are some fun DYK blinkies--feel free to snag any if you like:

DYK my brother took his family to the Tetons on a horseback riding trip a few yrs ago....when he went to the Grand Canyon they did one of those burro canyon trips too.
DYK my DH wants to go whitewater rafting on the Colorado...Jamie is a bit young for that so we have waited
DYK right after I posted to you I took the girls out....since the Nat'l Xmas Tree is across the street from the White House I took a pic of the girls in front of the White House (so tourist like but I'm sure the girls will have fun showing their friends)
DYK she said she was ok & DH said the same (he took them since he was off work Tues). The sports trainer, a guy named Evan, noticed she was coughing & asked if she was ok. She didn't want him to know she had a cold so she didn't say anything but I made sure that DH took Powerade/Gatorade for her.
DYK recently in the NYT there was an article saying exercise when one was ill w/a cold or virus was fine as long as one didn't over do it & took it easy esp if one didn't feel well during the exercise
Aly has $40 to spend at B&N. I have $10 to spend at Books A Million.
There's a book coming out in Jan that Aly really wants (Diary of a Wimpy Kid 3), and one that I really want also (Scat, a new Carl Hiaasen YA book...HATE most of his non-fiction work, he's anti-Disney, and did not like his adult works either, but LOVED LOVED LOVED Hoot & Flush, his YA books). I told her she could get the new Andrew Clements book she was interested in, but it's $16.99 (only hardcover), even with my 20% discount, it's way more than Scholastic. Scholastic has it (hardcover) for $8, but I had enough bonus points to get it free, so I did that last night, be in in a week or two.
