DYK Thread for December
**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**
DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know
It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members
Below are some fun DYK blinkies--feel free to snag any if you like:

DYK yes she LOVES her phone & brought it everwhere
DYK it was hilarious to see some of their interactions w/my coworkers....one guy in his early 50s graduated from the HS Rach is taking the Chinese class at. She wasn't too impressed by that ;-)
DYK then my one coworker Aaron who is in his 70s (no joke he's around the same age as my FIL) came over to say hi & impart some pearls of wisdom. Jamie just kept rolling her eyes at me and saying "I know" when A was telling her she shouldn't waste food when she refused to eat all of her bfast. Then later when he said he was going outside for a smoke break, Jamie asked why did he smoke when it was bad for you...then Rach said she learned in health class that smoking was bad for you....A said well, everyone does things that are bad for you, which is true. The expressions on the girls faces were priceless ;-) Later Jamie remarked to me that smoking would kill Aaron & I told her he was at the point in life where he felt if smoking hadn't killed him earlier
Usually they are cheaper than publisher price, but with my 20% educator discount at the big 3 (B&N, Books-A-Million, and Borders, which we just got this fall, all have the educator discount card), it usually falls hand in hand. Actually, Wal-mart offers a discount, too, that's where I usually get the newest Magic Treehouse book when it comes out (yes, *I* still buy them because *I* still read them).
I bought Beedle the Bard from Wal-mart for $8. Our bookstores are all in Baton Rouge. B&N is my choice, and we're supposed to be getting one nearby in the next, oh, 10 years (ugh...they've been talking about it for a few years now..I think 2010).
So, Wal-mart, if they have something, that's usually convenient since I go there at least once a week.
I'm not doing class orders of Scholastic this year, so my bonus points are about to run out...I probably have about $7 worth of free books left on bonus points. I get like 1 point for every $ spent, sometimes more if I have a bigger order, but if it's just me ordering, not so much. I haven't even been able to use my $10 in free books per month coupons since Sept because I haven't placed an order for over $20 (req to use the coupon) since then.
