DYK Thread for December

**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

Below are some fun DYK blinkies--feel free to snag any if you like:

Wow, they sang those religious carols in a public school choir?

That's like when I was a kid, LOL

I was really suprised becasue the majority of songs were religious. They did not even sing a Haunakah song, which they ususally do.I am guess they could sing them, becasue he was teaching them to sing in three parts and the songs he picked were perfect for tha. Also I doubt anyone would complain, becasue if they did I doubt he would use the somgs he did.We also sang religious songs when I was in school and I also went to public school. Now there was not one Christmas decoration to be found, but they did sing religious songs.

I remember singing religious Christmas songs in elementary school, because we actually had a "Christmas Concert" for the parents every year

My mom used to dress me in a little Christmas dress and do my hair, LOL

That was also public school (I went all the way through public school)

By the time I got to high school, it had changed though

Michael came from Catholic school to public high school, and he had to adjust to the lack of religion

I think in public school, if they're going to do Christian songs, they should probably do Hannukkah (sp?) and Kwanzaa songs and any other religion that has a holiday around this time, just to be fair

But I wish they'd do all of them, like a World Holidays theme instead of just "Frosty the Snowman" and "Jingle Bells" all the time, LOL

My favorite Christmas songs are the religious ones, just because they hold the most meaning for me

I've heard the Christmas shoes song a couple times in the past week and was telling Aly about the movie with Kimberly Williams Paisley. So sad & sweet.

I missed talking to you too!

Today was another crazy day.

I left my house at 7:30 to take Zoe to school, and then took Abby to school.

I came home at 12:30 and was here for 10 minutes.

Then left again and didn't get home until almost 6:00.

Luckily, my best friend's son went to his grandma's after school (my friend's mil) and I dropped him off for her.

Zoe loves them, and the grandma offered to watch Zoe for me while we were doing things at the school. We were setting up for the kid's craft day tomorrow.

So Zoe stayed there until a little after 5:00 when my parents got into town, and they picked her up for me.

(((HUGS))) Sofia, I'm sorry you had such a tough night.

I hope Michael is done with the fill-in job soon, so you can have him home at night again!
