DYK no, thank goodness ;-) just got an email from Jamie's soccer coach that he wants to know how many people are interested in indoor soccer. Her team is already having indoor practices Jan-Feb which will cost me $150 or so....I think a break wouldn't be bad esp since she will be busy w/lacrosse in the spring along w/the soccer
DYK I might have to look into finding Jamie another team next fall...her coach thinks she can make our local soccer club travel team but I've resisted so far because they train so much (3x a wk which I think is too much at this age) After our travel basketball season, DH & I are wary about committing to fanatical travel teams lol
DYK so this "break" will be good for us in light of the upcoming spring which will be crazy w/both girls playing lacrosse (DH coaching too) & Jamie also doing soccer
DYK I think soccer is big, obviously not as big as football, in TX....our local colleges have some players from TX. Apparently UT has a good women's volleyball program since there was a highly recruited girl from the Baltimore area that just chose UT for college (it was in our local papers)
its about fire time for me... but i doubt we will get there. ha ha we also have a fire watch this evening.... except everything is still wet from the rain its a possible fire hazard. better let jackie know.....lol
your right. They push football way too much here. guess that contact sport with out the "animals" is the next best thing. but rodeo is around the corner here so
After boys basketball there will be girls basketball and wrestling. So far we have had cross country and volleyball (football also, but not through the school), and then in the spring will be track.
Community wise the boys and girls basketball time frames are switched, so kids can play both for school and through the community league. Soccer is also spring and fall but again through the community, not the school.

I keep meaning to tell you that Alexis is playing lax is PE.
She is the only girl on her team and it is a rule that before you can score you must pass to a girl. She sees a lot of action. LOL!
