DYK Thread for
September

**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

Below are some fun DYK blinkies--feel free to snag any if you like:

DYK that I thought for a 1st period that Nik's is very long & I'm hoping it isn't a pattern. I have no way to find out any family history because her bio mom died last yr. & no one in the family will give me any medical info. Bio mom wouldn't before we adopted either but since I figured she (bio) would be around when Nik got older I didn't worry too much about it. Her bio grands thought that Nik would save their dd from alcoholism so when that didn't happen they didn't want any part of Nik. Their loss.

I used to have really long periods but then my mom did also. She seems to be doing fine w/it & she thinks its disgusting but she has been really good about it. Thankfully she got no cramps. I don't think there is any way of determining when a girl will start its hereidary & other factors. As far as I'm concerned I wish Nik was 14 when she started, she'll have it for a very long time in her life so why rush it. However we can't control nature.

I'm hoping we can get away w/out shaving till next spring unless she becomes self concious in gym. We've had enough 1sts for right now, braces, period & starting MS all w/in 4 days.I think she did very well w/it all. Not too sure I would have done as well as her.

DYK the happiest day of my life was when I realized it had been six months since my last period & when I hit a yr. it was celebration time. I was finally thru w/that. Don't miss it it all.

DYK that peri menopause makes your periods crazy & your life even crazier?

DYK I hope this period of dd's was a fluke & she doesn't have it for this long forever?

DYK how lucky you are your period lasts for only 3 days? My used to last for about 7-10 & like clockwork start on the 28 day from the 1st day it started?

DYK that I would think Nik took after me but she's adopted?

I hope she doesn't either.

Aly's last about 5 days, but she is BLESSED with 23 days in between (yes, that was sarcasm...lol).

Mine are about 5 days, but that doesn't count..I'm on the pill. On one pill, they were only 3 days, but I had other issues with that one.

I sure hope this isn't a pattern because I feel very bad for her. She told me she really wasn't too happy w/it lasting so long & being the 1st time she had to get used to the pads & worrying about changing them at school when school was new. So the poor kid got hit w/alot all at once. I'm not sure I would have takin it all so well.

It will be intersting to see how long it will be between periods & if it will be regualr. Like I said I have no way of knowing any medical on her biomom so I have nothing to go by.

Poor Aly every 23 days? I thought mine at 28 was bad.

dyk wow sounds like the girls have a very busy schedule (which of course means you do too)

dyk I think making the tournament into a long weekend sounds good

dyk We're off the 30th and 1st so we are going camping!

dyk I realize now that I'm taking off that Friday - it's going to be a sick day but really for personal use (sisters weekend) and I hope it doesn't look terrible that I take a day off at the end of a 3 day week.

DYK it doesn't bother me to eat oatmeal when its warm...I won't eat it when its hot like in the 90s & humid because I usually want something lighter plus I don't have time

DYK but now when its starting to be fall like weather around here in the 70s is fine
