DYK Thread for
September

**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

Below are some fun DYK blinkies--feel free to snag any if you like:

They really are not giving a time line for lights to be back on. Its just maybe this or that. As for Galveston they opened up some of the areas. But not all. and they have about 8 hours during the day then they have to leave again. Its got to be hard to get anything done in 8 hours..... Things are moving though I am surprised its moving this quickly. They are starting to have clean up of all the debris in the other neighborhoods. Hopefully mine will be gone sometime this week. Im soooo tired of looking at it all. Its just depressing.

DYK how are the pets? Is Picasso ok? And Izzy? has Jackie tried to rescue any pets? I imagine there are some homeless, abandoned pets

Well Picasso is still kind of in shock, I dont think he is too calm yet..... His back yard as been messed with so its hard for him. So he has been spending lots of time inside lately. As for the cat she thinks that she will die before she gets to eat so she has packed on 10lbs.....lol our new garfield. As for the lizards they had to share a cage with the frog one of the lights went out and the store is not open yet. So they are dealing with it......LOL everyone else is just fine.......lol

I went to Gab's back to school last night.I can see why she says what she says about each of her teachers in her mind at least.Although they all seem pretty nice. Her math teacher is kind of just there but as long as she does a good job of teaching Gab what she needs to know, she does nt have to be fashionable and exciting. Her S/S teacher is nice and Gabby likes her a lot,she will be off for 6 weeks in Jan becasue she is having a baby. Her science teacher is a ok,not as bad as he was on their first day,but we did get to hear his inner city kids spiel. Our school is not even close to an inner city school, but I guess the point he was making was he has to be strict/firm when they are working with stuff in labs, and that is true. Her English teacher is her fav and I can see why,the talking does not bother her as much since she has a kdger and he is always getting his"traffic light" moved for talking too much,so she is a little mor tolerant of them talking. She does give a lot of homework, but she is very friendly and fashionable;-).Her reading teacher is a little loopy and spacey Gab kind of described her as its like she is on drugs. She does lose her train of thought pretty often. The teacher mostly talked about what they will be learning this year,so it was nice to go and put a face to a name.

DYK so does this mean that all is not as terrible as Gabby described or has it been magnified to be more than it really is?

DYK I told DH that Rach hasn't really seen any mean teachers....I remember having some not so nice teachers in jr. high & HS & hers are nothing compared to them
