I hope this question isn't offensive to anyone but i don't know who else to ask.I don't want to ask my friends because i am ashamed.
About 10 years ago when i was 30 i spoke to my doctor about lack of desire. She ran a battery of tests and told me my progesterone levels were low but not alarming low.
She told me this affects desire. It has gotten much worse in the last 5 years probably in part due to my sleep disorder. Does anyone know if progesterone levels fluctuate b/c sometimes there is a strong desire for a week or so but then it goes away usually for months at a time.
Does anyone else have this problem? Quite frankly it is affecting my relationship and it is affecting how i feel about myself. I know i did not grow up with a healthy attitude regarding sexual health and sometimes i have those negative thoughts at inappropriate times.
Thanks for listening.

Don't be embarrassed, its a very common issue for women and men too I presume. There are Dr.s that deal specifically with this issue or sexual issues in general. I don't remember where you live, but if you're in a large urban centre you may be able to get a referal from your family Dr. (and don't let them sluff you off, INSIST on seeing someone).

Hugs, Kelly I'm sorry that you're going through this but glad you feel comfortable to bring it up here. Although I can't speak from a personal perspective, I can say that many women do feel a surge in libido during ovulation, and I know a bunch of women who say that as soon as the ovulation part of their cycle is over, their desire just goes away til after their period.
