The past few weeks have been really busy

But at least good busy. I don't remember when I last posted... but here is the breakdown of the past few weeks..

--My brother, his wife & 2 year old son came for a visit. It was fun but wild. It's was crazy having a 2 year old in the house again.

-- We had DD's 12th birthday party. She had a great time. It was small, only 4 girls attended, but we all enjoyed the magic show and it wasn't a lot of work for me. DD was happy with the sterio we bought her, that is set up for her ipod to plug into.

--The kids & I went on our fall vacation. For a week visited with my cousin, her SO, and her 3 year old and one year old for a week in Santa Fe, NM. The last weekend her brother (who I see more regularly) and his 2 & 5 year old visited. We had a great time. We managed sightseeing. I took the kids on a walk though some ancient cliff dwelings, we went to Toas and visited a pueblo. At Santa Fe we went to a family festible and DS got to pet a wolf. DD was is heaven playing/helping with her 2nd cousins. My cousin's 3 year old, loved DD within 10 minutes and didn't want her to leave at the end of the week.

After a week, the kids and I took Amtrack to the GrandCanyon. Everything I have heard about Amtrack is true.. It's enjoyable while traveling through the countryside in the daytime, everyone on the train was friendly, but there were technical delays. On the other hand visiting through the Grand Canyon Railway was wonderful. The kids & I spend a wonderful two days at the canyon. We didn't misss a car in the least, had great service, the hotel in Williams even let us use the pool on our 3 hour layover while waiting for our night train to LA. My only recomendation is not to bother with the train if you only have a day to spare.

-- After we got back. I had to jump straight into G.S. & school business. On Monday I helped paint a huge American State Map on the playground blacktop. And Tuesday was the opening day Cerimonies at the new school. Today was day 3 at the new school, and I spend a few hours helping get the books on the library shelves. With 12 volunteers the whole library was put back in 2 hours.

-- Life is continually busy. I take my Cadette troop on a campout next weekend. I still have to figure out costumes for the kids for Haloween. My son wants to be a lizard and I have no idea's. Life doesn't look like it's going to slow down until December.

Hope everyone else has been having a great time. I still need to process & do something with all my vacation pictures. But DH does have pictures of Sara's birthday.
