of those of you who pay allowance to your children, what on the average do you pay a twelve year old and what do you expect them to pay for with their allowance??? thanks

That's what I do - her allowance is based on her age. She gets a $1 raise at the end of the month. She'll be 13

During the school year up to last year(7th grade), she got $7 a week with potential of making more!


Her chores were about 4-6 things per day---for example(cleaning bathroom, bedroom, collecting garbage, etc..)

My dd is 13 and gets $15 a week, this includes he lunch money. She can bring her lunch from home, which is on my dime, or buy it at school on her money. I also don't pay for exra stuff, candy, video games, etc... that is what allowence is for. We do pay for clothes, trips, and activites.
