I hope that th BCP are able to regulate Amy's periods somewhat and that she does not have any issues with them.If they work it will be good for Amy to get her life back to that of a normal 13 year old girl.Hopefully she will be able to return to soccer in the fall and be able to go to the beach this summer.

We have tried bcp before in the standard form (i.e. have a period every 28 days) and in the non-standard form (i.e. to suppress/stop periods completely). Neither worked as it should nor gave us the results desired, which is why we stopped trying this option. Being on several bcp pills at once however is a NEW thing. I am trying to stay positive. I REALLY appreciate your support.

Thanks! Even though this is NOT a possible long term solution I hope it does work for the short term. The LAST thing Amy wants is to be back in the hospital for another extended stay.

When we tried suppression she bled or spotted non-stop after awhile - even a switch to a different bc didn't change that outcome hence we don't feel this is a viable option long term. Right now her flow is getting heavier! I know patience is in order and am trying to keep upbeat as I know she needs to have me as a calming presence right now.

Gina, sorry to hear that things have started after only 12 days. Fingers crossed for Amy, I hope you're able to get her right into the doctor.
