We're in the midst of our drive to get donations for children who are hospitalized on Christmas when we'll distribute presents to the patients.

how about books, or lotions, or even hair products that they can play with their hair. Some nail polish or even light colored make up. A journal, or something to color with, maybe some clay they can sculpt with. Painting is always fun they have small sets that you can paint. Maybe a jewelry kit they can make bracelets, or watches, or even necklaces. Beads.
There are lots of arts and crafts they can do that are in small packages. I hope I helped offer some ideas, good luck.

Word search books. Those velvet coloring posters, a small handheld battleship game, or yahzee.

How about Sudoku books, small Lego sets, modeling clay (the kind that doesn't dry out - this can be therapeutic too), mosaic-type (mandala designs) coloring books and colored pencils, maybe a small white board and colored dry erase markers to play games like tic-tac-toe and connect the dots, travel versions of board games, small jigsaw puzzles, pocket-size chess/checkers sets, origami book and paper, maybe a set of those things that shoot Nerf darts or balls, playing cards...
