What's the hardest part about the role you play in your family?

I think it's that anytime there is slack to be picked up, it seems to be expected that I"m the one who is going to take on more.

Being a single, homeschooling mom, that runs a family daycare, it's the fact that I have to wear so many shoes, and not have another adult to help. For the most part we all have a great routine going, but some days it would be nice to have another grown-up to take up something.

That I'm it? I don't have anyone to share the duties with and I'm the one who makes the Dr's appts. He will take her if its convenient but it depends. I am the one who knows what's happening at the school and with friends. But I don't mind. I do get my me time when she goes to her Dad's when I can eat Doritos for dinner if I want, so I have no real complaints. To be honest, its less work having one kid to cook/clean/launder for than a kid and an adult. :-\

I have the husband and I am still the one who knows all the school stuff, drives her to all her activities, takes her to her drs appointments etc......I really don't mind but he is rather clueless when it comes to the nuts and bolts. He does spend time with Gab,alot in fact but it is always the fun stuff!

Yup, totally agree....what is my DH's philosophy? He says he's a "big picture guy" and will leave the "little details" to someone else....like me ROFLOL!

Has no interest in school functions unless I press him to go, clueless about shopping for the kids, movies, music but will take them to festivals, events cuz he wants to go too ;-) Oh he does take them willingly to sports practices as long as its not basketball, which he hates.

When Gab played soccer he did take her.As for dance he just feels wierd picking her up.Plus her dance teacher is never done when she should be,so sitting around waiting in a room full of women, watching a bunch of girls dancing is not his cup of tea.Plus I'd have to listen to him whine because she wasn't out on time Just easier for me to do it.I'm not even sure if Dale knew Gabby's teacher's names. He knew how she did,but the teacher's names are a useless detail I suppose. He did give a presenation on his trip to Alaska to the entire 6th grade, but that was because Gabby volunteered him without his knowledge.;-)
