* Setting alarm and getting out of bed? No alarm, I just open the door and ask them to get moving and feed the horses.
* Picking out school clothes? 4 days out of 5 we don't leave for a while, so they just wear pj's to school (we homeschool). On the days they have classes outside the home (once a week), they each pick out their own clothes.
* Monitoring shower times? Not involved in this at all, both kids shower at night, no reminders, both good about picking up and getting out when needed.
* Making breakfast? I make their breakfast, but we're not rushing out the door, so this isn't a big issue. I make a hot breakfast every morning.
* Packing lunches? Another N/A, no packed lunches, we just eat it as we cook it.
* Reminders for the details of teeth, hair, shoes, backpack? Never for the 14 year old, constantly for the 10 year old. However, my 14 year old continually loses his sneakers and somehow blames me for it!
* Setting alarm and getting out of bed? Me * Picking out school clothes? Evan * Monitoring shower times? N/A, he showers at night * Making breakfast? Me unless it's a weekend * Packing lunches? Me * Reminders for the details of teeth, hair, shoes, backpack? Me
Hmmmm..... I'm thinking maybe I'm doing too much for him. Maybe he should be doing breakfast and lunches. Mornings are so hectic that I hate to add more stress to things by adding to what he's doing. He already unloads the dishwasher and takes out the dog in the morning.
Setting alarm and getting out of bed? Rach sets her alarm but if I don't hear her I'll go & remind her to get up
Picking out school clothes? Rach does that
Monitoring shower times? Rach takes showers the night before usually
Making breakfast? The girls usually have a bowl of cereal & do that on their own or grab a granola/power/Luna bar on the way out if running short of time
Packing lunches? Combo; the girls will pick out fruit & chips then either DH or I will pack a sandwich or thermos
Reminders for the details of teeth, hair, shoes, backpack? Rach does this except for notices/payment I'll ask if she has it in her backpack
Who does what in your household? You or your tween?
* Setting alarm and getting out of bed? I set my alarm & wake her up. She sleeps through my alarm so I don't know what she'll do when she's older! * Picking out school clothes? She wears uniforms. * Monitoring shower times? we do showers in the evenings * Making breakfast? I'll warm up the sausage biscuits, or she'll pick something out of the pantry. * Packing lunches? she does * Reminders for the details of teeth, hair, shoes, backpack? no reminders...we just have a set routine--wake up, bathroom, brush teeth, get dressed, hair fixed, breakfast/lunch, shoes on, school stuff.
