i have a dayplanner but I never write stuff in it. I just try to remember things and get by on a not too bad memory and a lot of panic-induced remembering.
I try to keep the WHOLE family in the loop of what is going on. The Blackberry has ALL of the appts. The calendar at home has all games and practices etc. My Momagenda has my work stuff and
I'm an old fashioned girl, I've tried to go electronic but ultimately nothing worked for me, so I use a basic day planner and a pencil to keep organized. EVERYTHING is written in that, then I transfer what the kids need to know onto the large office sized calendar in their school area, and my dh will enter what he needs into his electronic whateverhehas.
I'm pretty organized as a rule, I generally know at minimum a week ahead what we have, and I keep my day planner open on my kitchen counter where I can see it daily. I plan my meals (and I plan out breakfast, lunch, and dinner) based upon the craziness of our schedules, and I buy ALL the food we need the weekend before, so that helps a ton.
Now, none of this means that I'm not running around like a chicken with its head cut off most of the time! I swear this semester is HARD on all of us, I feel like we're always late for something.
I have an old Palm Pilot where I put all the appts/sports practices/school related activities. DH just asks me usually about what we have planned (so typical of a lot of spouses in my office ;-) & I check that. I don't use it for anything else so I haven't felt the need to upgrade to a Crackberry or anything else yet!
I crashed my palm pilot a few years ago, I loved that thing and have always planned on getting a new one, but the newer gadgets just don't seem to appeal to me nearly as much as the Palm did to me.

I thrive on lists! So I have my Blackberry, a Momagenda book(http://www.momagenda.com/products.cfm?cID=17&pID=49) and a Mom's PlanIt calendar (http://www.familieswithpurpose.com/moms-plan-it-calendar.html) on the fridge at home.
