Has your tween/teen had to deal with any bullying up to this point? How was it handled?
When Mackenzie was in 3rd grade there was a boy in 5th grade who liked to tease her..she was VERY physical when she got upset so the kids liked to make her 'act out'. On the bus he grabbed her Powder Puff Keychain, holding it over her head. He was heard taunting her, saying he was going to BURN IT. Ooh, those were fight words! She balled her fist up and CLOCKED HIM UPSIDE THE FACE! Totally knocked him down! Sniff, made momma and daddy proud! Of course they got pulled off the bus and were going to be suspended for fighting..but all the kids got off the bus and were backing her up against this boy! She just had to attend a 'talk' with the counselor and I'm not sure what happened to him, but he didn't mess with her anymore! LOL!
Has your tween/teen gotten into any trouble for bullying? How did you handle this and how were they punished? I don't think my kids have gotten in TROUBLE for bullying, but only because they're sneaky..they use words instead of actions. I've caught them spewing nasty things and come down pretty hard on them. I think because we've moved so much they've become pretty adept at handling situations most kids can't without bullying.

Did you have to deal with any bullying as a tween/teen? Share Oh yeah, I spent middle school finding new ways to the bus stop at school because SOMEONE was always threatening to beat me up after school! I actually had someone who bullied me in Girl Scouts, but she lived in a different town so it was only at district activities...never figured out why she targeted me but I too hauled off and knocked the crap out of here once and that ended it!
Were you a bully growing up---how has that affected your outlook on bullying in general? Share with us if you think bullying has gotten worse since when you were a kid. WHat are some reasons you think bullying is so bad? Share your thoughts! No, I was more the 'scared little mouse' kind of person! I don't know why bullying seems to be worse. I think maybe it's because there seems to be LESS PARENTING of this generation...
We have been very lucky we have not had to deal with this yet. Her last school had a very strong anti-bullying policy and it seemed to work. Of course there were little tiffs between kids and that kind of thing, but nothing systematic. I didn't either growing up. Sure it wasn't perfect but it was not an ongoing thing where I was targetted. So I have to say neither of us has had to deal with this. Hopefully Kristen will remain as lucky as she grows. She's got a pretty good attitude and if she finds something not liking her or giving her a hard time she just sort of does the "whatever" and ignores them and doesn't let it get to her.
