My son turned 13 in January, and he and his group of friends (about a dozen-both boys and girls) have been doing things together, (parties, dances, movies, etc) as a group for over a year.

It doesn't matter here as Alexis has no intrest in boys at all. Actually I think she does, but she is still at the stage where it is emberassing, kwim?

If she were to ask to go to a party or a group outing with a mixed group and I felt comfy with the other kids/parents then I think we would allow it.

I pretty much feel the same way as Christi....now coed sleepovers I would have an issue with ;-). Rach will be 12 in July & while some of her friends have boyfriends she really isn't into boys...she is more into sports right now & any guy she'd like has to be "sporty & skinny like Daddy" ;-)

Well, since Sherina still considers boys "disgusting", I'm not really concerned with this....yet!

Like others have said, I'd be fine with it if I knew all involved (parents as well as kids).

Gianna has never *not* had boys at her parties, so it would be a little silly to start restricting her from doing so now.

Well, this really isn't an issue yet.

Well, it seems in our community "parties" aren't done. Birthday party, during the day kind of thing, yes, but not a party just to have one. I don't have an issue with it being co-ed as long as its supervised to my satisfaction. Aside from sex, the same things can happen at an all girl/all boy party as a mixed. Drugs, alcohol, sneaking out and running around the neighborhood, prank phone calls, etc. So I'd be just as concerned about a single sex party and would want to ensure that supervision was up to my standard. Not sure exactly what that is. LOL But it would depend on where it was held and the circumstances around the party.

I'm honestly trying to conceive of a time when I would not know the involved adults, and I can't.

No, not ok with me. They need to focus on school. My girls are busy with soccer, too, so that helps to keep them our of trouble, IMO.
Actually, Victoria has been to one for a few hours. Her friend has a birthday party and the mom didn't mention there would be boys there during the day (they had a sleepover). I didn't really like the fact that it wasn't mentioned to the parents.
