I clean up Abigail's room and bathroom, too, when they really get to me. But I look at the whole house as my home and I need it to be orderly. Until they pay their own mortgage, they need to abide by my reasonable rules of order.
I got another one. For some reason Hannah has to make snide remarks to me when she's around her friends. Today I take the girls to the mall to pick up some headbands. We're in the car yakking away about shopping, blah, blah, blah and Hannah pipes up and says, Mom dresses like an old lady. She has no sense of style. I wear Nike pants and a cotton top most of the time. I don't think that's so bad. Please...........................I guess it's the way she says that sort of stuff. It grates on my nerves.
My son always trys that in front of his friends. He thinks he is such a tough guy. I just try and ignore it, but if he keeps it up I am sure to put him in his place, with his friends watching. I guess they are just trying to show their friends how tough they are.
I agree with Laura. I wouldn't phone her if I didn't need to talk to her. Its not like you phone just to chat at a sleepover. No excuses. Now as some said, if its in her bag or she can't hear it on the bus or in a noisy place, no biggie, but to purposely refuse to pick-up is a no-no. It could be something urgent, you just never know.
speaking of slobs. Hannah decided to clean out her room. I couldn't believe me ears when she said, it was too cluttery. Of course she had me put about 100 stuffed animals/beanie babies in boxes. She wouldn't let me throw them away. Soooo there they sit in the garage, along with a bunch of other stuff she won't throw away. She did throw away a bunch of other junk though. :)
The other day Hannah said, she wished she was in school. She misses her school buddies. I told her to call them up and invite them over. Hum? what a concept.
she was at the YMCA with her friends that's a boy and I called her 3 times and she answered every time. Of course I called once and asked her if she was hungry and she said that M and her walked to 7/11 and got something to eat. I was like, YOU WHAT????? left the ymca with M, didn't let me know and walked to the 7/11 w/o telling anyone. Yikes!!!!!
