That is what I tell Abby all the time.
As far as the internet, I feel it's our duty to know exactly what are kids are looking at and who they are talking to. I keep our computer in the living room and my son can't use his laptop in his bedroom. I occasionally take a quick peek to see what website they're on. I have explained how important it is for me to know what's going on. I've also explained that the internet really isn't private, anyway, so it's not like I'm spying. When my daughter is on the phone, I walk by a couple times

Yes I do have to right to spy on my kids. Reading a diary -- I would not do this if everything was ok with her -- if depression etc.
