Guess I tend to be the latter. I don't go out of my way to protect her from it but don't encourage it either. Its part of society now, more than ever before, you can't live in a bubble and not see it so I work on making it less of a forbidden mystery. But its not like we talk about sex all the time. However I am aware of what's out there and what she's exposed to and when I think its appropriate I bring it up.
since we hardly ever watch tv......... that cuts out some of it. As for the ads in a magazine well she does not read those. She reads national geo. for kids and zoo books......they are all about animals. Its not that i tend to shy her away from those but she chooses.... when she does come across them its hey mom they need to put some clothes on. LOL I have to laugh and agree with her.. (only to know she will change her tune soon.) When that times comes I will probably just tell her there is a time and place for everytyhing. she will know. As for the songs well she listens to them, she knows whats suspose to be a song and what you to get out of that song. its not always the lyrics its the music. she gets that.
I have a really hard time with this.
When Gianna was younger I shielded her from a lot of those things.
I know that I can't shield them from most of it, and that's ok.
Joy, I know what you mean about the songs we grew up with!
