Question of The Week...
Do you reward for grades?
Why or why not?
If you do--what kind of rewards do you give?

I don't believe in bribes or paying kids to do their work and get good grades.

We've gone through some rough patches with my son regarding his grades, so yes, we've used money as an incentive...my daughter just gets to reap the benefits!
I've offered $10 for each A, $5 for each B and DOUBLE for any higher level, Honors/AP classes.

I agree, but to an extremely bright, classical UNDERACHIEVER like my son, the gratification of a good grade seems to mean NOTHING.
No, I don't pay, I think it's a terrible precedence.
Yes, I reward my daughter for a job well done when she comes home with a great report card. I dont think of it as incentive or as paying her for doing her job - which is going to school and doing her best. I think we all need a pat on the back and an 'attagirl' when we've worked hard.
I do not reward for good grades.
So, would you return your Christmas bonus?
