Since I come from a Jewish family, Santa isn't a huge big deal to me and I didn't really make a big deal of it with my kids, but they are surrounded by other people who are big on Santa, you can't really get away from it.

I'm SURE both of my boys don't think Santa comes to our house!
I finally told her last year (fifth grade) that Santa wouldn't be coming anymore. I told her Santa only came for little children and that mom and dad took over when the kids got older and no longer wanted toys.
Just recently, we discussed the fact that there never was a Santa.
Why did you decide to tell your daughter in fifth grade that there is no Santa Claus?
I dont think she believes in the whole santa thing .........and hasn't for years but. In my house we all grew up with if you stop believing he stops comming. So we all still "belive" in Santa. Because he still comes. We talk to him every year and set out cookies and all just like we did when we were little. So the theory still lives and we believe in the "magic of christmas that goes along with it" So its no santa is the spirit that it brings.
Quick question to add......... (not to steal the tread)
Do you think it hurts or harms children once they find out the difference?
For my kids, it didn't hurt them.
