I don't believe that every person needs the same amount of sleep, tweens included. Matthew has always been a night owl. He probably goes to sleep around 11pm or so at night and he's up by 8 on school days and later than that on his off days. He also goes to be a lot later than 11pm on his no school days. Brandon falls asleep around 10 and he's up before me in the am...probably gets up around 6 or 6:30am. He's always been that way too. Even on the days he stays up later, he's still up at the crack of dawn.

As for electronics, I'm way easy going about that. Both of my boys have their own tv, stereo, ipod/mp3 player, game systems, dvd players and Brandon has a full size keyboard and trumpet. They are allowed to fall asleep to the tv, they set the timer, fall asleep, the tv goes off. I never had those things as a kid so I guess that's the reason they have it all. It really doesn't seem to affect the sleep habits of either kid.

Luke's bedtime is 9, while Sami's is 9:30--both get up at 6, so they get 8 1/2 -9 hrs of sleep.

**Does your child get that amount of sleep?**

Kelley(12) and John(almost 10) get between 9 and 10 hours of sleep per night.

**DO you still have a set bedtime for your 10-14 year old?**

They have a bedtime of 9pm unless there is special circumstances such as homework that needs to be finished or a special family outing.

**What electronics does your 10-14 year old have in their room?**

Now here I am not as good about. Both of my children have tvs, xboxes, and stereos in their room and my daughter has an mp3 player. Their cell phones are left downstairs charging during the evenings so those are not in the room. Although they have these things in their rooms, the directv goes off at 8pm with the parental controls, and they they can listen to music and read till 9pm. Both of them seem to sleep just fine, so I have never thought of this as an issue.
