Funny, but in my town the superintendent won't even allow the police to carry a gun in our schools.

It sounds to me like she's trying to protect herself from the abusive ex-husband. I think it's a good idea....but what if she's mentally unstable or something? You never know who is safe these days. There are too many school shootings, and regarding my post about schools, you don't usually see these shootings at private schools, do you?

I would not be happy with this. If her husband is that much of a threat that he could come to the school and harm her, I'd say its her responsibility to leave the school and not put children at risk. I know some kids are way bigger than female teachers. What if one gets angry and wrestles the gun away from her and uses it? What if she panics and shoots someone she THINKS is her ex or an intruder but makes a mistake? I don't think taking the law into your own hands is ever the answer. I would be pulling my child out of her class if I knew there was a weapon in the classroom.

I don't think teachers having guns in the classroom is the answer!
