wow thats kind of strange. to put an age limit on it? wow. I get kids of all ages even adults...... its really normal for us to get lots of adults doing the same thing. Thats why i dont know if im going to give out candy.

The CITY does? Does that not infuriate you? I can't imagine my CITY dictating what my kids can do for fun, and at what age!! What do they do, require a birth certificate??

That's a new one for me, I have never heard of a dictated age for trick or treating.

There's a house in our town's "trick or treating neighborhood"(most of the kids go to the same neighborhood, which has cops on bikes and lots of open houses) that makes all the teens perform, whether they are dressed up or not. My daughter and her friend, who love

Almost all of the cities in this area set an age limit. They can still dress up & go out and walk the neighborhood, hang out with friends, go to the haunted houses. They just aren't supposed to "beg" for candy.

When you get too many older kids & adults begging, it takes the fun out of why you're handing out treats--for the kids.

So I COMPLETELY agree with it...but I've also never known different--there was an age limit when I was a child. You still get to have fun when you're a teen--just get your own candy, don't go begging.

I don't really think that anyone up to 18 is too old, as long as they wear a costume when T or T ing.

I couldn't have written my own post any better. I totallly agree with you---I don't care if adults come to the door, as long as hey are dressed up.

I think kids this age are certainly young enough to go trick or treating if they want to. I'd a lot rather have a 13- or 14-year-old on my doorstep with a pillowcase than off at a Halloween party getting drunk with older kids. I'm not wild about adults and nearly grown teenagers t-or-t'ing because a lot of houses run out of candy early and I think it should be left for the younger ones, but again, there are worse things they could be doing.

Must be a Southern thing, Alysha--it's all I've ever known (well, at least since I've been in Mississippi--didn't care when I lived in N. O.) & I'm cool with it.

Thanks to Kelly (mom2emsopmax) for my beautiful siggy! Photobucket
