Yes-must be, I grew up an hour away from here and in another parish. Of course, I'm still shocked where I live now even allows Trick-or-treat, but there are a lot of transplants here, so it would've been fought in recent years. Less than half of the households hand out, though. More people DON'T celebrate than do here. (And most of the ones that do aren't "from" here, like us.)
Busy! I still have 3 classes of lab reports to grade from last Thursday (each class takes an hour to an hour and a half--written lab reports, front & back of a sheet).
And next week, I will likely need a sub for I don't know how many days--I've been summoned for Jury Duty--yay me! Was telling my 3rd hour how I might not be there next week, and they asked why (I have a para that hour, so I was really telling her, but addressing the whole class)--they said that sounds so cool, and I need to find them guilty....LOL. Anyway..... (Don't put 7th graders in the jury pool!)
Having a sub is twice as much work for teachers than actually showing up and teaching...I hate it!
Of course, they're not going to tie up a good sub for me, not knowing if I will have jury duty or not. I'm summoned to appear Tuesday morning, but I have to call Monday after 4:30 to see if that is even still in effect. So, (on top of everything you normally do to get a sub) I have to write TWO sets of lesson plans for Tues-Fri of next week--one for if I have a sub, one for if I don't.

Our city has an age limit too.
