Quinn was sent to the principals office

Yesterday Quinn was sent to the principals office. The reason...he wouldn't button up his jacket or take it off.
He wore a short sleeved tee-shirt to school. And of course a jacket. It was still chilly in his first period class, so he left his jacket on. The sub teacher told him to take his jacket off. I asked if he was messing in the pockets of it or something to draw attention to it. He said that the lead on his pencil broke, so he got another one out of the inside pockets. (I happen to know that he keeps a retractable lead pencil in there) He also said his wallet was in there & he pulled it out & put it in his pants pocket because he knew that he wouldn't have his jacket on at lunch.
Anyway...He told her he was still sort of cold. She then told him to button it up. He told her that his chest wasn't cold, just his arms & that it was too hard to button the jacket up. (It's a denim jacket & they are hard to button up) She sent him to the office for talking back to her. I figured that he probably was huff sounding because he was trying to work on the morning class work. So...he goes to the principals office. She asked what happened. He told her. She laughed & said something like "Go back to your class. When you get warmed up, take your jacket off."
This is the same sub that a couple of weeks ago sent another boy (Alex, a friend of Quinn's) to the office for wearing a tee-shirt she didn't approve of. He went to the office, the principal looked at the shirt, smiled & sent him back to the class. I saw Alex's mom at the grocery store the next day & asked her what sort of shirt he had on. She said "Geez. All it was just a Stewie tee-shirt with him saying 'You will obey me' or something like that." (Stewie from 'The Family Guy'. Quinn likes him too.)
Quinn said that she is a regular sub & that when she's there she sends kids to the office or makes them sit outside in the hall for talking too much.
So, he had extra homework because by the time he got back to class, he didn't time to finish the paper. Not that big of a deal, but Wednesdays are a little busier for us because he has guitar lessons.
Anyway...I thought it was a little silly. I've got a meeting at the school this morning. I'm going to pop into the principals office (if she's not busy) & ask her what's up.

Hmmm, clearly if the principal is dismissing most of her claims when sending students to the office, then he needs to have a chat with her.

"I do have to say though....if she asked him to remove the jacket or button it up and he said his chest wasn't cold, that is technically talking back.
