Quinn's hurt eye

Quinn fell while playing outside this afternoon. He went face first & right onto a stick. (I'm still not exactly sure how it happened) The stick really did a number on his right eye. He has a skinned up place about the size of a dime on the outside/cheek area of his eye...then a scratch that goes all the way across almost to his nose. Then (as if that's not enough) he has another little skinned up place on the upper/outside of his eye lid & another scratch that goes all the way across his eye lid. I cannot believe how close it came to getting him right in the eye. If it had hit his eye, it would have done some serious damage. His eye wasn't too swollen, but before he went to bed it was starting to swell a little, even though we put cold compresses on it for (what seemed like) hours. And was starting to look all bruised up. He was sort of worried that it's going to be swollen shut in the morning. I told him that it may swell a little more, but not to worry about it. We will deal with it & that it really could have been a lot worst. That he is blessed that the stick missed going right onto his eyeball. I'm going to take a picture of it. I wished I could post pictures, but I can't.

Ouch! Poor guy, especially having just celebrated his birthday. I would keep cold compresses on it to keep the swelling down. If it is really swollen tomorrow I would be tempted to take him into the doctor just to make sure he is okay. I hope he feels better soon.

Yes. I will take him if it's swollen pretty badly or if it's hurting him.

Oh Wow! Someone was watching out for him that is for sure! I'm glad it wasn't any worse. How does it look today?

Those what if's do a real number on us doesn't it? I have thought about those kinds of what if's more times than I can imagine.

You know if you open a photobucket account you can post links to pictures, you just copy & paste in your message, I copy & paste the actual picture from that site sometimes but not sure if it can be done without the package. But I did the first one before I had the package. Either that or email them to Laura like she offered.

Just a suggestion.

IF she dosen't have the express package though, she can't post those links in her siggy box to show the pics!

She would only be able to post the link for the album on line to share.

His eye looked pretty swollen this morning & was hurting him...but his vision was ok & his eyeball is not bloodshot. What I thought were red scratchs were red bruise like streaks (don't know exactly how to describe them). They are sort of raised up. I gave him an Advil for the pain & sent him on to school. I had a job interview at 8am. Other wise, I would have taken him to the walk-in clinic (which opens at 8am). I went ahead & sch him an appt for when he gets out of school just to be on the safe side. So, when he gets off the bus, I'll be waiting in the driveway for him. (appt is at 2:30) I will let you all know what the doc says later tonight. Thanks for y'alls concern.

Good luck on the interview.

OMG!!! That sounds horrible. Sometimes its amazing how the eye manages to protect itself. Glad no serious damage was done and hope that it heals quickly.
