I live in Manitoba. We have to pay for the agenda as well. I also have to pay a lunch fee of 50/year so he can eat at school. What else? I have to rent his instrument for music class. It is 100/year for a trombone (why he picked that huge instrument is beyond me LOL).

His school also does fundraising. It is optional and any money a kid raises is put in their own account and can be used for school trips etc. I don't usually participate because I hate selling stuff.

I think in Pa if you live at least a mile from the school you do get a bus.If you are less than a mile it does depend on the safety of the rode. One of Gabby's bf is probably less than 1/2 mile from the school, but she would have to cross areally dangerous rode,so she gets the bus.It is a full bus it just picks her up last in the am and drops her off first in the pm.We don't pay bus fees. When Gab was in elem she walked which was fine there was a craossing guard at the inersection that was dangerous. We live in an older town with sidewalks, sjo it would have been a waste to bus the kids.

I hate fund raisers too!I never sell the stuff Gabby brings home.At least at your school the student gets the benifits of what they sell.Unless it is fr some type of trip, the student concel gets the momey and it des not even benifit the whole school.Gab came home yesterday with the magazine order forms. They always have thes assemblies telling them they can attend some exciting event if the sell x number of magazines. One year they were actully making the kids who di not sell stuff sit in silence, because they did not sell, while the other kids jumped on bouncy things. That never happened again.I am not buying 5-6 sucritions to a magazine so Gabby can jump on a bouncy thing.Plus it is kind of hard to sell around here, because everyone sells. Then yu have to hit up grandparents who don't want whatever you are selling not going to happen. Can you tell how much I love fun raisers. At least at yur school they benefit the kids in a positve way.
