Service Industry Vent .....

Nothing makes me more livid than poor service in the service industry. So I'm feeling stressed about school and kind of tired so for the first time in 6 months I tell Kristen I will stop and pick up KFC for dinner. Completely unhealthy and gross, but sometimes you just need to clog up your arteries. So I get there and it is jammed (only a little tiny take-out place. After waiting more than 10 minutes, I place my order and the manager comes out and says "we ran out of chicken and it will be 15 minutes more. Now take into account there have been people waiting at the counter since I got there, so they've already been there 15 min. So I got rather testy and said it would have been nice to know but since I paid I guess I'll wait.

So we are waiting and they start giving everyone their fries and gravy. Ummmm. I don't want to eat fries that have been sitting on the counter for 20 min. Wait until the chicken is ready, THEN dish up the fries. "Oh, don't you want the gravy?"

WOW! And I thought that our KFC was really sucky!!! We once went to the Wendy's down the street from our house & they were out of burgers. No meat! When they told me, I said "Where's the beef?!" The people behind me laughed because they got the joke, but the cashier just looked at me as if I was speaking Chinese. No chicken at KFC is pretty darn lame-o!

*For those who may not remember, there was a little, old lady on the Wendy's commericals back in the 80's that would say "Where's the beef?!"

Oh our KFC sucks too (service is really slow), but the chicken is sooo good that it's worth it sometimes.

Evening ended up much better than it started. Someone gave me this site at M&M where you have a picture and you have to associate the scary movie with the picture. There is a mountain and the movie is "Twin Peaks", or an M&M juggling 6 pennies for "Sixth Sense". There are 50 hidden movies so I started then DD joined me and as it got harder we started looking up movies on www.imdb.com doing a search by words that might be in the movie. There are some wacky movies out there. We were laughing so hard sometimes we were almost crying. So for nearly 90 minutes we tried to find all the movies. We got down to 3 left and we just couldn't figure them out. Thanks to the internet we found a cheat site. LOL But after such a crummy start we really had fun together even though I should have been studying, but I figure sharing some laughs with her was more valuable than studying right now.

Here is the site if you want to try it. Its lots of fun but some are harder than you think.

So sorry your thought of a quick and easy meal turned so bad!

But service issues like that are everywhere!

Oh my, I must reply about this. Since I've spent a great deal of my life in Canada, let me assure you that here in the states, things are no different, lol. I run into these same people here, but in addition to stupidity I'd also have to add NON-English speaking! Try and place an order with someone who has no idea what you're asking for to begin with, lol. Good thing around here our McDonalds has pictures on their cash registers for the workers, ugh. Btw, last time we were at KFC they had NO chicken pieces either, the truck hadn't arrived, but they were selling sides, lol.
