Signed DS up for band next year........

They had a meeting at school tonight about it and I gave in and signed him up. We had to pay $40 for a music stand, beginning book, care kit and one month of rental. It works out to $28 per month including repair service with a loaner while it is being repair and replacement insurance if it is broken or stolen. It'a rent to own program with no interest or finance charges. Actually cheaper than I thought it would be. He's been talking about being in band for 2 years now and I've really been on the fence about it. He's been asking me everday for a month if he can be in it. We have enough trouble with him just with regular homework, now he'll have to practice also. He's going to play trumpet. ACK! I played clarinet and have one but it's needs some major work and will cost more than it's worth. He will get the trumpet in August when they have 2 weeks of "band camp". I've already told him that if it starts interferring with homework and his grades drop that the trumpet goes back. Thankfully it's a program that if you decide that you don't want to do it anymore, you turn the instrument in and owe nothing else. If you can't find earplugs in the store in August you'll know I bought them all!!! LOL!!!
Also took both kids to the eye doctor today. His eyes have changed slightly but not enough to get a new prescription, Thank God! DD doesn't need glasses at all, Yeah!! Now I can get new ones. I smashed mine probably 5 years ago and haven't been able to get new ones. I have old ones that are probably 10 years old that I wear to drive but are butt ugly. Now I can get new pretty ones.
Phew!! An exspensive kind of stressful day, glad it's almost over!
Have a greatr weekend and Easter holiday! Dawn
I didn't realize how LOUD a sax would be, LOL!
We have a similar rental program, and it has worked out great.
