David woke me up at 2am because he was having severe abdominal pain. I took him to the ER and 3 hours later they confirmed that he had a kidney stone. It's a small one and has already passed to his bladder. He doesn't have anymore forming, so that's good. He of course if off to bed asleep and I'm wide awake. I think this is going to be a long day.

Thanks everyone. I actually went to bed after posting that so I've had some sleep now.

The stone was only 3cm and there were not any others forming. It had just passed into his bladder when he had the ct scan taken. The doctor said IF he even notices it pass out it will look like a grain of sand.

David is suppose to drink a lot more water. Since he doesn't drink any, even some will seem like a lot to him.

I will look up the lemon water. The doctor didn't say anything about cranberry juice. She also didn't say he needs to change his diet except to avoid dark liquids like coffee, tea, and cola.

I realize 3 hours from leaving our house to be homing is not long at all for an ER visit. We live in a small town, and no one else was in the ER but us.

MIL is prone to them so I do know that tea is bad,she also says no chocolate, salmon, and I thought she told me that for what cause hers the dr said no cranberry juice. However,I did hear that cranberry juice was good for them,so who knows.MIL like your dh isn't big on any liquids, even water. There was a story on v a few monthe ago about teens getting kidney stones because they were not getting enough liquids, mainly water.

Hugs to David, and you! Glad to hear that there are no more forming. I hope he doesn't have any more pain. Hopefully you'll be able to get in some rest or a nap,

I'm so sorry David went through such a painful experience, I hope it's the one and only time this happens to him.

Sorry late on responding to this---glad to hear it was nothing too serious and that he passed the stone on his own.
