Hmm, thats a good question. I am trying to think of what my kids say when they are stressed out. My boys are introverts so they aren't really vocal when they are stressed (much like DH). My daughter will say "What the heck" or "OH MY GOSH" ... other than that I am not sure. I think the key to not using swear words is to have alternate words in your vocabulary to express the feeling you are having. I can attest, sometimes it "feels" better to say a bad word or you get your point across better (seemingly) if you swear. That again, can be modified by using other words.
My 6 year old dd uses "sweet niblets" a lot, I think that's so cute, but unfortunately I can't get the rest of the family on board with that..........they don't want to be just like Hannah Montana..............
That is an interesting question, my short answer would be that we aren't really yellers in our house! I don't really notice ANY of us needing to spout off like that. Sometimes when my frustration boils over I do a primal scream type thing, lol, and my dd does too, but my boys really don't ever seem to need to vent with words.
We encourage a lot of physical activity and I have noticed my son will go outdoors, work out, etc, when he's frustrated, so maybe that's his outlet, I'm not really sure!
We don't have big issues with language around here, honestly.
Aly just started using OMG (which I made sure she understood that G needs to stand for goodness), but it's not so much in a frustration sense--more like, OMG--a new episode of such & such is coming on tomorrow!! I guess in a "woohoo" sense.
Otherwise, she doesn't use replacements for (or the actual) expletives.
I use "crap" a lot and Mike's always fussing at me (like he has room to talk...but anyway!...I guess I need to be the UPSTANDING role model since I'm a teacher, too). I often say sucks, too, and that may have come out of Aly once or twice.
She doesn't even use stupid, so I really can't complain.

Hmmmm, so what do you do or say when you are so totally upset or frustrated?
