DD is still very clingy and attached to me. She will be 12 in a couple of months and still will turn down invitations and offers unless I can go along.

No advice here. My DD is the opposite. She will only agree to me chaperoning something if there is a fear it will be cancelled if more parents don't come forward. LOL If I push it she'll go along but she'd really rather I not be around her and her friends. Not sure which is worse. :-)

Have you talked to a school counsellor if you have those? They may have some advice on how to get her past this if there doesn't seem to be anything specific that triggered it. I'd be tempted to go for tough love, but its probably best to get some professional advice first because you don't want to make it worse. Hopefully she'll outgrow it soon.

I wouldn't push the sleepover aspect of it as some kids just don't feel comfortable staying in another home--and that is ok.

As far as the other----maybe you need to stop signing up for things!
