Summer care for 6 graders +

My DD is not yet at this age, but I'm starting to think about it... DH and I both work full time, and during the school year and summer, both kids can go to 'Kids Network' - a before and after school program, as well as summer program. The kids enjoy it since many of their friends also go, and there are field trips every day in the summer. However, it's only available through 5th grade. Once DD is in 6th grade, I'm okay with her riding the bus to and from school and staying alone for a couple hours until we get home. However, I don't know what to do in the summer. I've looked into different summer camps, but they seem to run only 4-5 hours a day, so we can't get her there and pick her up throughout the day. I would like to find someone to come into our home to be with the kids from about 9am-4pm, and be able to take them to the pool, the mall, etc. but where do you find someone you can trust, that will show up every day? I'm not sure how other working parents deal with summer for kids this age. Any ideas?

I work the school calendar so I do not need to worry about this, but you may be able to find a college-bound student who is wiling to nanny for the summer.
