It sounds like Nik had a decent first day. That is too bad her LA class is so unbalanced.Does Nik seem to mind?Last year in 6th grade they tended to read a lot of boy oriented books. They had a ton of Gary Paulson on the read list. However, they ended up reading one book per nine weeks,so they dropped a lot of the Paulson, after Gabby wrote paragraph after paragraph about how she hated Brian(the main char in Hachet and its endless sequels). So Gabby ended up reading:Hachet,The River,True confessions of Charolette Doyle, and Tuck evrlastling.Gabby still has not had too much omework. In fact they did not even start their novel in reading yet,so we shall see what thei week brings. She did have a word scramble last night for SS,and some math homework. She alos did a getting to know you questioneer.Gabby has five different teacers for all her core subjects, plus different teachers for her unified arts.Just keep trying different types of pads,I am suure you will find someting Nik likes.Next time I talk to my gf,I'll ask her what brand she got for her dd,because her dd needed something small yet absorbant, and she ated te wings to.I think it was a kotex pad,but I don't know what style.I hope Nik has a good 2nd day.She probably won't have to change for gym since it is the 1st day.

She better not have to change for gym because she didn't take anything to change into.

Finding pads for her is hard because they're all so big & she's so tiny so she needs absorbent but small. I bought the Always for petites & they were still big.

Nik had to do a getting to know you questionaire for music. I hope her language arts teacher sends something home today giving us an idea of what they will be reading this yr. & doing.

I hope the girls all have a good yr.

Dh keeps telling me Nik is very resourceful & will do just fine. I know he's right but I worry. Once she gets the whole locker thing down & when to go drop off books during the day & get others I'll be happy.

Her friends mom called me last night telling me that K came home totally stressed out & she was wondering how Nik did. I told her Nik did fine, only got lost once & was very happy & relaxed when she got home. That made me feel good because K is in advanced & Nik took the change better than her friend did. I told K's mom this is alot like dd's Fl school including all the homework they tell us the kids will be getting so to Nik its going to be going back to the norm or it should be.
