Tell us about your Mother's Day!

My mother`s day was interesting to say the least. The day before ds Zachary had a game at the middle school ball field to make up for one that was postponed because of rain. All of the boys on the team including my ds acted like brats! We lost the game 12-5 and it was scorching hot out there with the only shade in the dugout. I got blistered on my leg and arms and my youngest ds got it on his neck. The game went into extra innings because the ump apparently thought it was fun to sit out in the sun and burn UGH!! Anyway after the game I was pulling around the parking lot to leave and the coach`s mom was backing out of a parking space she didn`t see me and backed into me messing up the front passenger side of the car. My front passenger door is jammed and there is bumper residue left all down the passenger side from her Honda Passport I was in a Plymouth Reliant car so her bumper hit almost the top of the door. I am glad that Zachary was not hurt since he was sitting on that side at the time. I also had to deal with my dh and his brother not getting along as usual up at my mil on Mother`s Day for lunch and my ds knew I was still upset about the car accident and gave me my presents early Timothy gave me a paper mache` basket with flower seeds he made at school and Zachary gave me a candle that he and dh had picked out together. Hope all of you had a better Mother`s Day than I did.I will be glad when the woman`s insurance calls me back so I can get my car fixed but until then I am driving it like it is and just putting the ds in the back seat.

Kelli is 7 and totally into the 'giving' part of holidays. She even informed me that she KNOWS how much I like the handmade stuff better then the stuff they buy, and is constantly making me pictures and cards ... and tries to get really creative. She even gave me a $5 bill in an envelope! LOL I think she loves getting cash in her cards and such and figured I'd be just as excited. She really cracks me up. Definitely balances out Kevin, the grouch, who barely even wished me a "Happy Mother's Day." Sigh! Oh well.

Book your Spa Day! Actually, the first year that DH did this for me, I was thrilled ... but it was just as exciting knowing I had it, and whenever I felt really stressed, I kept thinking "yeah, but I'm going to need it more ... things will get worse." I'm planning to go by next month, however, only because I got an e-mail from this place offering a special 'discount' on a Tropical Wrap ... ? (Like $75 instead of $125 or something insane like that ... but since my b'day and valentine's day were ignored, I think for sure I need to be sure I get the TOTAL treatment. LOL)

Spent Saturday with my family (mom, dad, brother, sis and their families) so we had "Mother's Day" early, allowing each of us a day to relax and NOT have any obligations on Sunday, which was nice (although we did pick up dinner and take it to my inlaws, which was o.k.) I, too, slept late ... 8:00, but for me, that's a record! Kelli (my 7 y.o.) gave me all sorts of handmade gifts (things from school as well as others she made at home.) DH gave me a gift certificate for a Spa Day at a luxury spa nearby which I wanted (needed?) ... this is the 3rd year he's done this, and I love it! Massage, Facial, Manicure/Pedicure ... full use of all spa facilities including hot tub, sauna, equipment and classes. They even have a therapeutic water fall that's a treat. (I also usually add an extra service 'just because' and will probably go for some type of stress reducing body wrap.)

Took Kelli to the zoo just for a bit ... it was 90+ degrees out, so that didn't last long ... then picked up sushi for lunch and ate it with a wine cooler while relaxing by the pool with my feet up. That's all I wanted ... to do NOTHING!

All in all, it was a nice weekend. Kevin was in a mood, but I opted NOT to let it get to me.
