That's okay! Physically she's actually my grandmother (she adopted me when I was four) so she's much older than most moms. She's in the final stages of Alzheimers, doesn't know who I am. My dad, bless his soul, insists she will die in her own home and has his hands full caring for her. He has in home help and tons of outside helps that come in a regular basis as well. She's surrounded by people who love her, but she's in South Texas and I'm in Denver. I don't exactly get to see her too much. I love her dearly but everytime the phone rings I cringe, thinking it's "THE CALL".
I make dh talk to them.I am getting a little better. My mom has Alzheimers and I am her primary caregiver so I have to make appts for her, get her out of problems
Thanks! These type of illnesses are always harder on the rest of the family! I think the only good thing about being so far away is not dealing with the constant pain of her not knowing me!
