I'm sorry you're dealing with this, Deanna. . . Is she going to bed early enough at night? Maybe she's not sleeping well, so she's sleep-deprived in the morning. I know Matthew is a bad sleeper, and tends to stay awake in bed at night, and is often grumpy in the morning. I have threatened to stuff his clothes in his backpack and take him to the bus stop in his PJs before! Fortunately, it hasn't come to that yet.
Last night when I went to kiss Tessa Goodnight, I noticed her nose was a bit sniffly. We keep a baby monitor in the hall at night so we can hear all the kids, and around 2 AM, I heard a barky, croupy cough from the girls' room. I woke my DH and sent him in to investigate. He said Tessa was coughing, but was sound asleep. He listened to her lungs with his stethoscope and said they were clear, and he put a humidifier in her room. Fortunately, even with all that, neither of the girls woke up (I can't imagine sleeping that deeply!).
This morning she woke up and was still coughing that scary, barky, croupy cough. So she was home from school today. She doesn't have a fever, but she's all congested and coughing, poor baby!
thanks. with jackie its more homework late and then doing all the bedtime rituals is hard for her. she does not get sleep on the weekends when she is with her "father figure" and when she gets to finally make up that sleep its two weeks later and she is so tired by then she gets the sleep. but the next week she leaves again. Like this weekend she will be gone again. that will be torment in my house next week as well. Thanks for the concern though
