Hey Mindy, things are good. Not really, we discussed one girl name that DH suggested and we both actually agreed we liked, don't know if that will really be it and we'd still need a middle name, but at least we've been talking about it, so that is always nice.
I think he's still waiting for the "second opinion" to verify for sure its not a boy on April 8.
LOL! DH is still gunning for Brian Jr. :-) We've honestly never really discussed names, I ended up naming Emma on my own (long story), so this is the first time. I has a few left over from Emma, but DH didn't like most of them and the one he suggested was on my list already, so even if nothing else happens, we do have one we agree on and we can just plug in a generic middle name. ;-)
When we found out Emma was a girl DH kept saying that we'd find a name, Bob, Joe, something, but she was gonna be a boy and that was that. Honestly, i don't like giving Jr. names, and we already have 4 Brians in the family, and I don't think its fair to give a kid someone else's name, and lastly, I think the first boy should be a Jr. and DH already has a son. I did tell him if it were a girl, I'd be "ok" with naming her Brianna. He didn't like that idea.
I agree about people having their own names. I'm not a fan of juniors. I grew up in a Jewish family where the tradition is to name for deceased relatives so juniors were unheard of.
I think its also part of the confusion factor in our house. Jordyn calls DH "Brian" already so I think it would be more confusing for the baby as it got older, and its middle name would be Joseph, and I don't care to use Joseph or Joe, especially since we do on occassion call Jordyn "Jo". But hopefully in a month, it will be a mute point.
That's a lot of Dans/Daniels/Dannys in your DH's family!!!
And on the Robert story, I know a family (dysfunctional obviously)--dad is Jesse--first daughter is Jessica with his last name, second daughter (different mother) is Jessi with his last name...the girls are a year apart.
We have a step-niece named Ali (not short for anything) who's about 10 years older than Aly. I was pregnant when Mike's dad married her grandma, but we had already decided on Alyson Kay (actually, the first name was decided on when I was in 8th grade).
We both liked Seth, but my cousin's son is Seth and that would give my grandma 2 great-grandsons named Seth. We now have a Seth in Mike's family.

Good luck with that 2nd opinion. My 2nd opinion is the same as my first, three girls is the perfect family and the one I always wished for myself :)
Dh and I had an easy time with girl names, both pregnancies.

Hmmm, I'm definitely not a fan of Brian Jr for a girl.
