Its Thursday ladies, how are you today?
Good morning. Quiet here. Zeph is in his room studying for the history bee. We'll start school in a bit. DH is still sleeping. I have a long honey-do list for him so he can sleep a bit longer before I spring it on him:)
I have laundry, dishes, and grocery shopping to work on. I got a horrible night's sleep so I see a nap in my future.
Hey there. I feel so good this morning. Slept good and sinuses are in check. Today is grocery shopping day but I have to wait till I get my car back, hopefully by noon today. In the mean time I have paid the bills, put lunch money into the kids accounts at school and ordered the girls some Christmas gifts. All of Katies are coming from the UK and thank goodness will all arrive before Christmas, at least say they will. I need to figure out Matthew. What he wants is hard to find. Ugh. Having issues with his. Anyway, today he is staying after again to get some Eglish help. Hopefully I will have my car so I can pick him up. Yesterday it started to get dark by 4:20 and I knew he'd be heading home around 4:30 so I started walking towards the school to meet him hopefully half way so he wasn't walking home in the dark alone. Helped him carry some of his books home. Two freaking books were so darn heavy, goodness! So I will be picking him up today I hope. Very little going on with the girls. They both have a 4-5 page short story to write and I suppose they will be getting started on that tonight after school, it's due on Tuesday. But I also need to take them shopping for my mom's birthday gifts. I also need to put Matthew's birthday gifts together and wrapped before Saturday. I should do it now while I wait for the call on my car I suppose. We'll see.
Dinner tonight, I might make chili, saw a cooking show last night and they were featuring chili. Made me want some.
Chelle- Becca's ex BF was a teacher at the high school- she mentioned to me about subbing in the system as well.
I don't know. I think I could deal with the smaller kids- the middle school ones would drive me nuts.
But then again- Becca had this sub for drama a while back- and the sub didn't really teach them anything. In fact, that day Becca went into the prop room with a couple of kids and they played "dress up" LOL I could do that for $100/ day.....
I know- wrong name. I'm on the laptop b/c the desktop isn't cooperating. I need to move resume stuff onto here- there's a hospital job I'm considering (a Psych tech in the adolecent unit) and I need that stuff to apply.
Went to gym. Need to take shower. Got to get Becca at 3:30. She leaves for Hot Springs tonight and has packed NOTHING. They need to be at the school at 4:45 by the latest. I didn't want to get her early from school. She's going to miss 2 days of it in 2 weeks b/c of Sr. Regional orchestra.
So we have no kids tonight. Yay us! I have to leave by 11 or so tomorrow to make the drive to get the other kid. She's home for a week- I think she's looking forward to it. Posted something about an evil Spanish teacher assigning a ton of stuff over break. The guy she likes posted on her wall- so I went and snooped LOL. I guess he's kind of cute. And I do think he likes her.
Not going to friend him though. I'm kind of hoping she'll talk a little on the ride back tomorrow- it's just going to be us. Not that having a boyfriend is a bad thing. It's just hard that she never dated anyone in high school.
It was fixed on Monday.
I kind of wish I'd waited until this week to have it. We were only paying for gas on the rental- and it was much bigger than our car. Not to mention not having the 300 or so miles added onto the car LOL.
Hi everyone. What a spectacular day!
First I went to work and the huge problem aggressive violent student in our class was absent! Then the teacher told me she'll be at a meeting tomorrow morning, and it is my turn to cover. Then I got my paycheck and I had more coverage time than I expected. It was the senior citizen Thanksgiving lunch, which my friend Laura and I bought for ourselves and it was delish and we had a great time having lunch together,.
Then I came home and received a phone call from the admissions counselor at Kayleigh's #2 college choice. They have accepted her (her first acceptance) and have awarded her their $100,000 over 4 years scholarship. This is a small, private college and this scholarship makes it cost the same as a state school. She was so unbelievably excited when I told her. So now, we just wait to hear from #1. She is no longer considering any of the others that she applied to.
Tonight, the boys are out at a scout meeting, Kayleigh is telling people her exciting news and washing the shirt she has from this school to wear tomorrow. I'm going to open a celebratory bottle of wine for me.
