I haven't gotten into those books. I think I bought one when I was planning on going to the beach a few years ago, I don't know if I still have it at home or not. Maybe I'll have to look into it.

I worked in the school office today and had Homework Club after. when I got home, somebody had cleaned the kitchen, so I was able to start dinner right away instead of having to clean up first. I am making chicken pot pie for dinner tonight and hopefully going to bed early, since I have Learning Readiness ( preschool) all day tomorrow. I am also waiting for DH to come home so he can back me up with the kids. Their grades are horrible, and it is not because they do not understand the material. It it just pure laziness and not keeping their priorities straight. The thing is, they keep bugging me about wanting to resume all their acivities, even though their grades really have not improved. I explain it over and over, they get mad and storm off in a huff, then they come back and ask again. It is upsetting to me to have to cover the same subject with them repeatedly.

Congrats to her! I hate to say it, but MIL needs to learn that not everyone is going to be able to attend every event, it's the summer before her freshman year of college, she is going to have a lot of stuff going on. I'm sure you niece/nephew will understand.

Heather, we were talking about mackinaw island before and you asked about hotels on the island. I finally got an email from the Lakeview Hotel, the one that does deals regularly and is at the one end of the island that is right across the street from the fort. Here is a link to some May, spring, deals they have going on: http://www.lake-view-hotel.com/default.aspx?l=%2C1%2C12%2C398

I know MIL is going to have to "get over it".

Thank you! This is perfect itming to throw into the mix of vacation options. I'm needing to make some decisions now about our SC science trip and it all hinges on what else we are doing for vacation. We also just found out that the homeschool travel group who did space camp last year ( discounted group rate) is offering space camps's aviation challenge this fall. It's a great deal at Mackinac and would work for Zeph's birthday get away!

I keep telling myself that Cheryl (for Jordyn), its her life, she needs to make the big decisions and if she wants to change college plans, and it works out in her favor financially, then that's not for us to step in the way of. As long as we've done everything we can as parents to prepare and teach them ahead of time, eventually they have to fly on their own with us in the background, easier said then done though...
