Good morning and Happy Valentine's day to all who celebrate it!  I hope everyone's day has started off well.  What are the plans for the rest of the day?

Hi everyone, hope you had a great Valentines Day.

Work day for me. The kids got a little out of control with the party, teacher says no more parties this year.

Kids both had regular school days. Kayleigh had GSA and then volunteered at the arts center.

Dh had jury duty

We had Chinese takeout for dinner, then had a fire and relaxed in front of the tv

Valentines day madness at school today! The party treats on the counter were a distraction all day long. The kids had a good time with their crafts and snacks and cards. Both kids are home tonite and I am finishing dinner. Not sure DH will be home, he is in the middle of a big project and his right hand person is out sick. I have a few little things for the kids and a card for DH with some of his favorite candy. Both kids are off tomorrow, DS is going on a college visit with a friend. He isn't really interested in this school, just going along for the ride. But the more schools,he is exposed to the better. If he really likes it we will go back the day after Easter and take the tour again.

I woke up to Zeph giving me cards he had made from him and from the dogs. They were both clever and he took some time with them. I don't know how much longer the homemade cards will be coming so I will treasure these.   DH had an 'oh crap' look on is face because he forgot. Poor guy has been in 2 different states this week and has been working on a major presentation at his downtme at airports.  I'm okay he forgot.  He suggested dinner out tonight.  Chicken slop can wait until tomorrow:)

I surprised Zeph with cards that had been mailed from family members.  Wow, were the grandmas generous!  Then I surprised him with a trip to the zoo for today.  What a fun trip.  While it was in the 30s, the sun was out with little wind.  The place was deserted!  When we got there only 11 cars in the lot and less when we left. The animals were active and we really got to spend some time observing.some cool behaviors,  Favorite moment was the wolves howling, so haunting and beautiful.  I love that he is willing to spend 15 minutes or more observing an animal. So much better than the run here and there of toddler years. I had hoped he wasn't expecting a tangible gift.  We're really trying to get away from that for these minor holidays.  He was in good spirits so I think he was pleased.

No idea where we are going to go for dinner.  I bet all of my favorite places are booked.

Thank you Tracy. It was fun making this without their knowledge.

These are the chocolates I made for the kids and I put some in those boxes for them.

This is their Valentines I set up on the diningroom table.  NO!  I did not just put that tablecloth on there.  LOL  It's been on the table for a week now.  It will come off tomorrow.  I hate our table so I keep it covered as much as  I can.

Morning.  I still have that headache from yesterday but it isn't quite as severe.  I am starting to think it;s more then a headache.  It just seems a bit weird.  But, to our morning, it was typical.  The girls are getting use to the earlier pick up with the bus.  Cold mornings make it harder to get out of bed.  Tim and I had a funny morning.  After I dropped Matthew off at school I almost picked us up a coffee but decided not too cause i really wanted us to go have breakfast together at Panera.  We love their  souffle there.  Yum.  So I got home and Tim came to the top of the stairs and asked me if I wanted to go and I never said a thing to him about it.  LOL  I told him he read my mind.  LOL  Then I get there first and get in line to order and decide to order for us both and funny he had tried to call me to let me know he was stuck at a light and to order for us.  LOL  I never got the call, my phone is on vibrate only so I never heard it.  But anyway, we are in tuned with each other this morning.   I am going to finish the kids heart shapped cake today.  Baked it yesterday and froze it.  I need to finish the chocolates I started the other day.  Get them package pretty and then I am going to get the table all nice and leave their goodies on the table.  I am going to also order them heart shaped pizzas for dinner tonight cause Tim and I are going out to dinner and a movie.  We saved our date night for tonight, made reservations and already have movie tickets bought and paid for.  Been looking forward to tonight all week.  I even checked the kids some movies out from the library yesterday.  Matthew wants me to find Alice in Wonderland.  Oh boy, hoping I can find it at the Redbox.

As for my job, still not sure when I get to start.  There is a bunch of paperwork that needs to be taken care of before I can even come in for my part.  They were hoping for a start on Monday but doesn't look that way.  It all has to do with the fact that I am being hired because of research they are doing and the extra paperwork it involves, so I am being paid with research money.  It all has to be approved right up to the president of the university.  It's quite a process.  I did find out that I will be making about $800 a month and I was speechless, I was hoping for $600 a month, so I am good with that.  I mean it's not like I have a degree in anything and deserve more.  She was apologetic for how low it was but hey, I am thrilled actually.

Time for me to get going.  I have an errand to run before I start finishing the cake and chocolates for the kids.  I got to get it done before 2:30pm.

Good morning ladies.  Typical day here, got the kids off to school and daycare and into work myself.  I have lunch plans today with a co-worker, we'll see if she cancels or not.  I have a few projects to work on.  Nothing planned for tonight that i know of.  Jordyn has work and then is going out with her boyfriend.  We are having chicken and dumplings for dinner.

Have a great one!!
