Counting down til wine o clock. Today was INSANE at work. Had a student do a total flip out, throwing desks, had to get all the other kids out of the rooms, emergency suspension, covered for gen ed teacher while she and spec ed teacher were in emergency meetings.

Kids had a regular school day. Kayleigh sent out a couple of camp counselor job applications.

They talk about it a lot on the Debt Support Group. A lot of the ladies use an excel spreadsheet system for what they call sinking funds, basically a fund specifically earmarked for a certain category like haircuts, clothing, home repairs, etc. Somekeep separate ING accounts for each subcategory, some keep it all in one savings that they can easily transfer into the checking and some just keep it in the checking account and keep a tally of it on their spreadsheet each month. I think whatever works best for your organizational system. We'd love to eventually get to the cash (mostly) envelope system of doing things, but until DH's income smooths out, its just not possible.

We used Dave Ramsey's envelope stystem for a couple of years to make us only use cash and to get our finances under control.

Yesterday's woo hoo day became a worry day at about 5:45. Dh got paid but only 60% of his pay. He's a contractor so his salary is actually a bill not payroll and the company had to jump through hoops to even make payroll. We were able to pay the mortgage but I'm going to have to do some creative financing to get us through the next week or so. :P

It's gray, cold, and wet and my mood matches due to yesterday's events. Trying to remain upbeat because feeling angry and victimized isn't going to solve anything. Dh did say he was only giving this job one more month. We'll substitute a Netflix movie for the theater and I'll think of something creative for dinner.

Tonight there is a water polo parent's meeting and Megan has swim practice. She went to bed very late last night so we'll see how she's feeling this afternoon. I also need to sit down and plan menus and groceries for the next week or so...

Another quiet day here. DH is home--he's been out and about for work the rest of the week.
