Good morning ladies. Off and running today so far, kids dropped off at school and 1 of my bill analysis filed, 3 more waiting for approval. I may actually have them all filed by tomorrow, woohoo!! Happy National Pi day!!Let's see, Jordyn cat sat last night and is cat sitting again tonight. I have a few errands to run at lunch time if i have the time. I have lots of paperwork to get done, including getting DH's sales tax finalized for filing and payment. I asked DH to put in roast and veggies in the crock pot before he left for his first job of the day, we'll see what happens. If he didn't, I am sure I'll figure something out for dinner, maybe ham and cheese croissants.Have a great one!
Morning. Took Katie in early for test review this morning. She is going to stay after today to retake it. Matthew has his 15 year check up today so I am leaving work early to pick him up and be there. I got something accomplished this morning already. My parking pass and I have my entrance keycard so I can park legal. YAY! And get in and out the gates. Only staff and faculty can drive through campus apparently. Students are on Spring Break this week. Tonight the kids and I will finish watching The Hunger Games.
Dinner is going to be chicken, not sure how I am cooking it yet.
My students are at PE, I am all ready for my day so I have a few minutes. After work I need to head to Costco to get a few things I need for a potluck tomorrow night. The kids will be at school late tonight as the play opeNs tomorrow night and runs all weekend. When I get home laundry and some bills, hoping I can make a few calls to get some insurance quotes. I know we can do better than what we have right now. Also need to make sure everything is in order for taxes. Dinner is baked pork chops, Brussel sprouts, and salad. Have a great day.
I just woke up. I hate sleeping away half of the day. When I got up this morning I could barely stand due to a migraine. I took some Advil, some pop and went back to bed. I feel much better now. I haven't had one like that in ages.
Today is Family Day and we will look through Zeph's Korea box and watch the video us meeting him at the airport. I'll read The Day We Met You and Love You Forever and he will squirm because he's a tween and I'm being really sappy but inside he'll be happy I'm keeping up the tradition. I assume we're going out to dinner. My dad him this morning to tell him how happy he is to be a grandpa and that Zeph is part of the family. My dad also gave him the day off of school. Who am I to argue?
How do you prepare your brussel sprouts? I had them once and they were slimey. DH had them recently at a business dinner and came home singing about how fantastic they were. I'd be interested in making them if you care to share the recipe.
I grew up being forced to eat fresh brussel sprouts from our garden and hated it! LOL! But I came across this recipe about 6 months ago and made them. The kids didn't care for them, but I actually really liked it, I may have to revisit them and try again to see if I can get them to try them again.

Ian had a regular school day. Kayleigh had school, then GSA, is now volunteering at the Art Center and will donate blood after that.
Tonight I'm making zucchini latkes and a butternut/barley risotto.
Dh has been finalizing the taxes so I can make the final FAFSA adjustments and hopefullly Kayleigh's aid won't be changed too much.
Other than tweaking the FAFSA, nothing planned for tonight, just hoping to relax

Aggravated with DH at the moment. I called him at 12:30 when I ran errands for lunch, he didn't answer my call. I had the insurance company call him at 2:45, he didn't answer it, "he'll call them back tomorrow", he didn't answer my text message at 3:30 and just now called me back. He was playing video games all day, didn't put the roast in for dinner and now won't be home this evening because he has a job to do. Very aggravated at the moment...
Heather, I don't like Brussel sprouts boiled or microwaved either. I also feel like they are slimey
I like to halve the brussel sprouts, then sautee them in a little olive oil til they brown. Then I season with salt and pepper, add chicken broth to cover the bottom of pan, throw in a can of drained water chestnuts and simmer til tender-ish. The whole family loves them
