OMGosh Laura! My MIL is the thrift store queen! Case and point: There is a salvation army right by our house. When she's here, she goes there EVERY SINGLE DAY AND BUYS JUNK! ANd get this...she LEAVES THE JUNK IN MY GUEST ROOM CLOSET! Are you kidding me! So right before my sister came in October, I bought a rubbermaid bin and put all of her junk in it. When she arrives today, she will find the rubbermaid bin with her JUNK in it. And before she leaves she will be instructed to take her stuff back to CA with her or it will be packed up in the rubbermaid bin again!

Yep the same person,my MIL has wrapped up teddy grahams for Gabby too.I thought she was going to have a cow when I told her Gabby wanted Pirates Of The Cariebian on year for Christmas becasue it was 19.99.Honestlt I am sure she spends near that so give her the DVD and be done.My MIL lives close by so she is always bringing us old books and magazines,it drives me batty.I certainly don't expect her to get Gabby a ton,but Gabby would get more use out of $5 or $10 in cash.Plus if she ask me a size she should get the size I say or don't ask at all.Why she can't ask Dale I don't know he is her son, then he'll ask me why I did not tell her what Gab kind of wanted.Hello.....She is his mom!My mom on the other hand is the opposite,I never feel guilty if we don't have a ton under the tree for Gabby because she makes up for it.Not that Gabby does not get something nice from us,it just seems like nothing since there is less under the tree as she gets older.W etold Gab if she got the I-pod touch that was pretty much it,but I still feel funny becasue she only has a few gifts to open from us.SHe is also getting a ds game,a computer game(but only because it was only $4.99,and it was a politicial game she wanted around election time,so I snagged it)and 3 videos.I got most of the software with the n$50 gift cart we got from Best Buy becasue we bouth the I-pod there. That was our best deal this year.

That's sort of where we were at with Jordyn getting a computer this year.

We may end up resorting to that, and I can just have DH stop and pick up a GC to their favorite local restaurant.

I like to buy too, even though I know Gab does not need anything. My mom got Gabby a sewing machine, some Gwen Stefani perfume head typr of hing, and way more clothing than she really needs, but it makes Gab and my mom happy and my mom has had kind of a tough/stressful year.Did you get Jordyn a lap top or a desk top?Gabby got her lap top last year, although it was an early Christmas present,so we ended up getting her a digitial camera.Dale is perfectlt ok,with Gab only have one really nice present under the tree,it is me who think she needs more.Thank Goodness for DVD.She really wanted The Dark Knight and Mamma Mia,she also wanted Jon and Kate plus 8,then she told me this am she want a Colbert Christmas so since I did have a $50 gift card it worked out well.It is just that the pile looks so small.I remember when Gab was Emmas age it seems like she got so much more, although I am sure we spend more now for less,

Maybe you could have a few standby smaller things and enclose a not from Santa saying that the weather made it really tough and he had to take light loads. He'll be back with the rest soon! They will really be a surprise then!!
