Ahhh, coffee break, I am having some agave spiked coffee, but am pretending it has some irish cream instead! Are you sure it's not Friday yet?
Busy day today, we've got Jr. High Rodeo this weekend so I need to pack food, pack clothes, and clean the trailer, first I need to plan and buy the food though! Kids have horse lessons today so I think I'll run to the store then. Today I am trying to get a jump start on my Thanksgiving meal, I have an AWESOME recipe for gravy that you make ahead of time (using either turkey wings or legs, whichever you can find), so that's simmering now. I detest making gravy at the last minute and dealing with all that grease and mess, so while it's a pita right now, I'll be glad come next week. I also just finished making a green bean casserole (yuck) for the kid's to take to their classes tomorrow, they are having a big feast. Next on the list is to make whole cranberry relish, but that's easy.
This afternoon I am supposed to go to a friend's house to help finish up our display for the local trail of lights (local clubs and businesses set up individual displays, for a sum total of 100+ really awesome lighted gorgeous trail of lights...out homeschool group has one display and our 4H club another, so we're actually working on 2). Ds has a history meeting, then we're supposed to go work on the 4H display, then they have horse judging to go to.
Thankfully this evening we have a Beaujolais Nouveau party, some adult time, yeah!
OK, for some unknown reason my gland hurts under my right ear when I swallow. Just on one side. Otherwise I'm not sick. Freaking weird.
Today $ucks because it's Thursday, and that means my DH is working his second job tonight. He has a temp job moonlighting at an urgent care clinic 2 nights/week, filling in for a doctor whose wife has had cancer. This is on top of his full-time job at the hospital. It makes it hard, because he's gone from around 6 AM until about 1 AM, and the kids don't even see him unless I take them in to have dinner with him. Plus I really miss his help in the evening.
Enough whining. . .
Yesterday I went to visit each of my kids' classrooms for about half an hour (The girls are in the same class). It was part of American Education Week. I really got a kick out of it, and can I just say that Matthew's class (my fifth grader) was the best behaved class I've ever seen? I don't know if his teacher is giving them all Valium or what, but OMG they were quiet, attentive and good. I was impressed!
Hey everyone! Taking it easy here 'cause this stinkin' cold still has me wiped out.. I'm going to pay for it tomorrow but I just need the rest. :( I had a piano lesson this morning. Not a good one and I can't afford that because I'm working on a piece that I'm playing for church at the end of December. I'll have to practice my tail off for the next several weeks. Hope I can do that because we're going to be in and out of town and the only piano I'll have access to is way out of tune (painful to listen to). I have laundry to finish as well. We all need to pack tonight for our weekend swim meet excursion.
Tonight is a pretty easy night. Both kids have swim practice and that's it.
I took my mom to get her radition at 10 am today. They were on time so we were in and out pretty quickly.Yesterday they were running almost 2hrs behind, which is really unusual, and we did have plans, but what can you do?I have a sore throat.I may be getting Gabby's cold.I hate the cold weather. It is so cold out and we have been getting some type of snow everyday this week.It may stick tom.I was really hoping to get my mom through her treatments before we got snow.Snow is rather rare her in Nov.However,I think it is going to be a long winter and it is not even Dec yet.I hate that it is so cold and dark out.Gabby has dance tonight until 8pm and when it is cold and dark ou 8 pm seems like midnight to me.Sorry for the whine fest.My mom is actually doing well I just worry about the weather becasue I hate to drive in snow and I worry about her driving here in snow.Gabby on the other hand is hoping for a delay tom.
Hey Tracy, thanks for starting this thread for me! Last night when I got home I smelled this awful stench in my garage. The thought of what it could be taunted me ALL night long. So this morning I called in and said I'd be in lae and
