Okay...day late, few dollars short..lol.

As you know, I had a Wednesday vent. Thurs & Fri were better days. I'm not going to say I was on top of my game today with 7th hour, but anytime there's some type of activity, it will be the way it was today, which was manageable.

I talked to the curriculum coordinator yesterday who had been walking with Mr. P. They hadn't heard a thing! They had just peeked in, and to both, "It looked like you were teaching to us!"...okay.

I guess that I could say I was fortunate that all the kids were seated at the time...no movement around the room, which I pretty much freak out on and have to be prepared for (yes, we do have movement in the class..like today, but I need to be prepared for that).

I talked to the mom of one of THE kids yesterday and that went better than planned. I talked again with the grandmother of that one kid (Oh, he had a GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT day today....I started off, before he came in the room, shaking his hand and saying, "Let's have a great day"..his grandmother had talked to him before school this am, and not only did he come in with a good attitude, a pleasant and attentive demeanor, AND not only did he do his work for today's class, but even took out the other day's work and kindly asked for some assistance, and did one heck of a job getting everything right!)

Okay, so at the end of class, he asked if I could call his grandma and tell her he had a good day. Well, normally, I will not call a parent after just one day...they're usually being good TO GET THAT CALL! And they'll go right back right after. Well, today he worked hard to achieve academic success and I have to give him kudos for that, so I called her and she was happy to hear it.

Anyway, other vents--our AC pan in the attic filled up last night and we had no AC last night. The guy came this morning and drained it and blew the pipe out with CO2. Twice in the month of August alone they were out...ugh! Said it's happening a lot with the heat/humidity we're having.

Oh, and here's a good one. Not only do I have to finish my lesson plans for next week, finish grading the other half of bellringers (I got through 3 classes in the last 2 nights), grade ALL of the lab reports turned in, and set up my official grade & attendance books. But, now I've got something extra. Last year, the content teachers (ELA, math, science, social studies) had to write a unit test and submit it to the school board. They "graded" the tests and returned them right before school started. I didn't get "mine" (the one for 7th grade science that someone else wrote), so I assumed I didn't have to do it, right? They were aware as late as 2 weeks ago that I never got it. She sends out an e-mail this morning (during my planning period) to not forget that revised unit tests are due today and new content teachers were given tests they had to revise, too. Uh, no I didn't!!! So, I went to her office and now she "remembers"...problem is, she NEEDS one from me. So, we look at the CD the previous teacher burned for me, and she finds what she thinks is the one he submitted. So, I get to revise that test this weekend. Everybody else had 3 weeks and it was their own test...grrr. Fortunately, test-writing is one of my greatest strengths and I actually love doing it. Unfortunately, I don't get to put off anything else because I've been putting all that off already (bellringers & lab reports I've had since Wednesday, and I started my lesson plans last night, but didn't finish).

Ok, I'm really late on this one...but I have good reasons. Last Sunday night, the night before the first day of school, my 2 yo started throwing up in the middle of the night. 10 min. later my 13 yo started throwing up. She missed her first day of 8th grade! After she started school, she's been complaining about everything. And tonight she says she wants to live with her dad next year! (See my other post)
On Wed. night my 11 yo DD got sick as well, Thurs. night my DH got it, then last night I got it...and I'm still feeling like you know what.

Ok I'm a little late on this one too.

Well I'm late in another way too, Ugh. A couple of weeks ago I went to take out my NuvaRing (birth control) and yep you guessed it it wasn't there. So I have no idea when the darn thing came out and I still haven't gotten my period. 4 negative pregnancy test's and a Dr visit later I still have no answers. I go back Thursday for a blood test.

On top of all that we are having money troubles and with that come arguments. Yeah fun fun!

Thanks Laura, your post made me smile. I'm so glad I can come here to feel better! It's a lot cheaper than a psychiatrist! HA!

Heck if I knew all I had to do was post my vent on here I would have done it weeks ago!
I started Monday morning. LOL!

I hate it when I get off schedule. I've never been that late. I realized I didn't have a cycle in the month of Aug either. LOL

Ok, so I'm almost a week late but I wanted to put a 2 cents in.

#1. For the lady who's child is taking AP math, depending on what it is there are a few self help math websites out there that are free and give hints. All you do is search under AP math or high school math.

#2. For the folks getting the kid a computer. If you haven't already gotten it, Best Buy has a deal that for any purchase over $500 I believe it is you get a year same as cash, just sign up for their card. Just a thought.

Now, I have a bit of a vent and it deals with my boys. When did they decide that daddy wasn't important enough and so now when he takes them to school, they get out of the car and are gone faster than pizza at a frat party. I don't even think I got the I love you out before I was seeing nothing but 4 arms churning fast, 4 legs going even faster towards the nearest playground/basketball court. Did I lose my cool dad title that quick or is it something worse, they're momma's boys. She gets a "I love you." It has to be some sort of weird machismo, daddy is for football psychedelic thing. I know I'm poking fun at it ad all, but it is the way I deal with it. I get the hugs and kisses at home, but out in the world, it's hey dad leave the camera home, that's embarrassing.
