I don't think so; we get Japanese beetles in the summer, too, and these are nothing like them... Japanese beetles destroy our flowers and they look like this: http://www.ces.purdue.edu/CES/Marion/Images/Hort/Japanese%20Beetle%2050.JPG

These ladybug things don't harm anything and they look like this: http://www.dpughphoto.com/images/ladybug%20durham%2050305.JPG

They have a distinctive (nasty) odor when you touch them or kill them. Other than that, they don't really hurt anything. But I am tired of finding their little dead carcasses around my windows... I read that they are attracted to light-colored houses (ours is off-white) with a southern exposure (which we have). I have also read (while in the library today! ;-)) that they will leave when the weather really gets warm. I hope so!!

No fooling here. Back to work. We got home at 4:15 this morning, went to bed and got up at 7:15. Arrgghhh. LOL Although I'm not feeling too bad. Probably that Kit Kat and tea helped this afternoon. We had a blast in New York but I had trouble focussing at work. Tomorrow. I have to do some laundry tonight but otherwise nothing much, just get to bed early.

We saw Curtains and Legally Blonde. Both were really great. We went to the Empire State Building, the Library (Kristen is a fan of The Day After Tomorrow which was set there so she wanted to check it out), the Central Park Zoo, the carrousel at the park and then we wandered around 5th Ave and checked out all the stores and hung around Times Square. We also went to Bobby Flay's restaurant (Kristen is a real fan) and we went to a restaurant on Broadway near Times Square called Mars. Kristen LOVED it. Mediocre food, above average prices and atmosphere out the wazoo. LOL Definitely appeals to kids. It was so much fun but we really put on the miles and are pretty tired after our late night last night but I highly recommend it. Great mother/daughter bonding as well.

We ate at Mars when we went to NYC.I agree with you about the food.

Gabby wants to see Legally Blonde in the worst way.It is one of her favorite movies. It has been on MTV.She was hoping it would come to Pittsburgh with next years broadway seris, but no such luck

Mama Mia is coming though,as well as Rent.

In a few weeks we are going to see The wedding Singer.

I think gab's fave part of NYC was the shopping,we stayed at the Times Sq Hilton.

I think Gab's fav rest.was The Plaza.

Very bloody movie.I had o buy it for gabby since it was R and I would not let her see it in the theater.I old her I'd buy the video. She closed her eyes or walked out of the room for a lot of the movie.

Gabby did see he stage play. She did like Jd as Sweeny Todd.

She also told me she was glad she saw it on video and not on the big screen. It would have been way to graphic for her in the theater.
